On 5th April 2018 the Happy home and school for the blind based in Worli, Mumbai in India visited us at our UWEZO offices in kicukiro where some of our children with visual impairment and the Uwezo staff got a chance to share some of the boy`s talents , stories , sing and interact with the boys and some of the staff from Happy home and school for blind.
The Executive Director of UWEZO youth empowerment Mr Bahati gave on behalf of the UWEZO team gave a warm welcome to the guests and gave a brief introduction of the what`` UWEZO`` means as he said it means ``ABILITY` derived from a swhaili word , as where there is a disability we see an ability that’s why UWEZO goes on to advocate , promote and build capacities of all the children and youth with disabilities just as our motto says

The chairman of Rwanda Renaissance Mr Clarence Fernandes introduced Happy home and school for blind where he gave a brief history about Happy Home Happy home and school for the blind is where visual impaired boys are
nurtured with the utmost care but at the same time they are all encouraged to be a part of civil society. He thanked the delegation for visiting Rwanda and he acknowledged that the delegation from India will be visiting the genocide memorial place and honouring the victims who were killed in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi children, the boys shared with us beautiful songs showing how delighted they were to have a visit UWEZO
some of the uwezo youth were also one of the genocide survivors who got disabled during the genocide and he shared his story of how he survived and how he overcame his traumatic experience to taking care of his young brother the guests also got a chance to ask a few questions about the genocide. Happy home and school for the blind presented gifts to UWEZO youth empowerment to and the youth genocide survivors. It was such a great pleasure for Happy home and school for the blind to visit us we hope and pray they continue to make channels of peace among these young generation
